HHCAHPS Survey OMB Expiration Date Requirement for 2020

Effective January 1, 2020, CMS is requiring the OMB Expiration Date for the HHCAHPS Survey to be printed on the first page of all HHCAHPS Survey questionnaires and as part of the OMB disclosure notice. The questionnaires and OMB disclosure notices have been updated on the HHCAHPS website at this link: https://homehealthcahps.org/Survey-and-Protocols/Survey-Materials#catid2  Appendix J in the Protocols and Guidelines Manual has also been updated on the website.

Vendors should begin to incorporate these revisions as soon as possible and have them fully implemented no later than the January 2020 sample month for all approved translations.

• The following phrase has been added to the cover of each HHCAHPS Survey questionnaire, just below the OMB#: “Expires January 31, 2021.”
• The following sentence has been added to the OMB disclosure notices: “The expiration date for OMB control number 0938-1066 is January 31, 2021.”
