Applicability of Reporting Requirements for Home Health Agencies Affected by Hurricane Harvey

This announcement serves to inform Medicare-certified home health agencies that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is granting exceptions under Medicare quality reporting and value-based purchasing programs. HHAs will be granted exceptions without having to submit an extraordinary circumstances exception request if they are located in one of the Texas counties or Louisiana parishes which has been designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a major disaster county.

CMS will continue to monitor the situation, adjust exempted reporting periods and submission deadlines, updating this Memo accordingly.
